Water Damage Check
4th January 2013
Winter can throw up a variety of nasty surprises for many buildings and their owners or managers. We expect snow, ice, sleet, and severe temperature drops, which means our buildings suffer more glazing and façade damage in winter than compared to any other time of year. This year however, has been the second wettest on record and you can't help to have noticed the chaos and damage to property and livelihoods across the country.
If you are a property manager you should be especially alert during this extended wet period as these are just the conditions that can lead to accelerated degradation to seals. In the same way as the earth becoming saturated, glazing systems can become waterlogged if exposed to constant volumes of moisture, or if the design or installation is in any way inferior.
Remember, these problems can remain hidden until they suddenly explode when you least expect and when it causes most disruption to your business and customers.
In these times we can least afford such problems so it is prudent to insulate yourself against such problems by keeping a robust maintenance and inspection regime.
Glazing Refurbishment can do just that for you. We offer a bespoke survey package to assess the needs, both short and long term, of a building and its glazing structure, quality, state of repair.
Our trained site staff are adept at spotting problems mentioned earlier and those which will pose a problem at a future date.
All in all, we aim to save our customers time, money and stress by anticipating major problems whilst they are still small and and nipping it in the bud.
