Kings Cross Western Concourse
17th December 2012
Kings Cross, one of Britain's oldest railway terminals recently opened it's new extension to the Western concourse. With its soaring elliptical roof and intricate webbed tracery of steel and glass, it is not only an architecturally stunning creation, but also holds the distinction of being Europe’s largest single-span structure.
Like may other iconic buildings, the concourse was designed as a statement; iconic, and to be admired by millions. However the architecturally stunning features that make the concourse such a beautiful creation can hinder the process of keeping it "beautiful" and looking clean and fresh.
Think how awful it would look if instead of a bright clear pale blue, the glazing was dirty grey brown and cracked. It simply wouldn’t do, but getting men up there to clean and maintain such intricate details can seem almost impossible where there are no anchor points or obvious means of securing men or materials vital for any maintenance to proceed.
This is a scenario we relish as we have grown our reputation and honed our skills and training over 26 years to take any such tasks. Over the years We have been tasked and trusted with keeping many of Britain's iconic glazed buildings in their deserved conditions so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
