High Level Glass Replacement - Works Continue
9th October 2017
The High Level Glass Replacement works on a London building have been continuing over the past week and weekend. The initial stage of removing the defected glass from the building was conducted with minimal disruption to both the streets below and the office workers. This is due to the use of our IRATA trained abseil technicians who were able to lower themselves down to the defected glass and remove them with the help of internal operatives without the need of a crane or a road closure.
Once the safety film had been placed over the defected glass, it could be effectively and safely removed ready for the replacement panels to be inserted. Before this could happen, the framework had to be cleaned and prepared for the new glass.
The insertion of the new glass was carried out using IRATA trained abseil technicians who were stationed both on the inside and outside of the building. Working in tandem, they were able to complete the works on time and in budget. The abseil technicians that were utilised negated the requirement for scaffolding throughout the entire project.
