London High Level Glazing
15th September 2015
Glazing Refurbishment carried out glass replacements to prestigious city centre commercial premises in the Moorgate area of London. The project comprised replacement of 2 No failed glazed units to the front façade of the building. The failed units being high level and immediately above pedestrian walkways required careful co-ordination and attention to safety considerations.
As with many similar projects before, we carried out the works on a Sunday morning to minimise disruption to the office operation and general public, and local cordons were put in place to protect the passing foot traffic.
Difficult high level replacement is our speciality, and external abseil rope technicians together with internal operatives using hand held vacuum operated suction lifters removed associated cappings before manoeuvring the glazing down to be carefully disposed of.
The final operation was to carefully raise the new glass units to the apertures and secure and seal off the job.
Full safety assessments and method statements are always issued to the client prior to commencing works so that:-
- The client is fully aware of the installation sequence all times
- Health and safety requirements are adhered to
On the face of it a relatively straight forward project you may think, but only our unrivalled expertise in high level glazing refurbishment works enabled us to execute a smooth operation in record time.
